We consider snorkeling both an enjoyable recreational activity and a simple skill that allows you to directly participate in the underwater wilderness.

Discoveries made in the water are complemented by informative interpretative sessions lead by staff leaders. Interpretative sessions adopt a snorkeler's perspective, concentrating on the wealth of creatures that thrive in relatively shallow water, including tips on how to best locate and observe those whose survival often depends on their cryptic nature.

In addition to species identification, we highlight easily observable behaviors of fish and invertebrates: interactions, color changes, and close examination of habitat.

SeaStar Adventures strongly believes in environmental awareness. Through the practice of responsible snorkeling, in tandem with informative presentations, we hope to expand your awareness of the coastal strengths and vulnerabilities, as well as relevant conservation efforts to preserve the marine ecological equilibrium.

Our guides have over 30 years of experience, throughout California, nationwide, as well as locally in San Diego. We are certified Instructors and Dive Masters, with degrees and experience in Natural Science and Marine Biology to give you an experience you will cherish for a lifetime.

Don your wetsuit and snorkeling gear, and begin your lesson & tour using the gear provided.Then follow your guide as we describe the diversity of marine life within this wondrous ecosystem.

Snorkeling the La Jolla coastline is a awe-inspiring adventure. Whether you are a first time visitor or a long time local, snorkeling La Jolla is always a wonderful experience.

Let us lead you on an incredible journey that will begin at La Jolla Cove and take you throughout the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. We'll take you over the algae and crustacean covered reefs, to the awe inpiring kelp forests and the famous La Jolla Caves, where Sea Lion sightings are almost a common occurance.

After your guided snorkel tour, have a quick fresh water rinse, dry off and get into your dry clothes. Then relax while overlooking the Pacific Ocean with a healthy & delicious lunch (sandwich, salad & desert) and water, all provided as part of your adventure.

Feel free to ask your guide any questions about some of the marine life you just saw.

We offer snorkeling tours every day, and on occasional weekdays it could be just you and your family.

Tours available for ages 6 and up!
Children must be good swimmers and weigh at least 60 lbs.
Children less than 60 lbs. must provide their own wetsuit.

These trips are perfect for families, though kids (and adults) need to be able to swim!
These tours fill up quickly, so reserve your spot early.
